  1. These where some fun pictures, that little guy is having a blast! But I wouldnยดt want to mess around with those big guys.

    • Yes and no.

When you’re in the front row and one gets pushed out of the ring, you’ll wish you’d gotten the cheap seats. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Oh, and pelts of body hair and folds of fat, well, if that’s your thing. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Clothed and out, they’re a lot of fun, at least the ones I’ve met.

  2. Reblogged this on Smorgasbord – Variety is the spice of life and commented:
I was going to share one of the super recipes on Made by you and I but this post caught my eye – I realise now that perhaps I was honoured enough to be a Sumo warrior in a past life because there is a remarkable resemblance when I put my new black bathing costume on this week!! Extra lengths in the pool today. Love the last photograph. Pop in and enjoy the food and the other posts.

    • Thanks.

There are some fun traditions with children and sumo here. One is what I photographed here. Another is where the sumo players hold infants and the ring master, who used to be/is, the priest puts on a demon mask to see which child cries first.

      • That is a wonderful tradition, Cteavin. That’s funny and mean to make kids cry! โค
