About

I had a blog here way, way back in 2014 that I kept going for a couple of years when a squirrel caught my attention and it was blog over.

I used the pandemic to reinvent myself: I’ve changed jobs, tried some new hats on, and started a YouTube channel (learning all I needed to know along the way). I’m restarting this blog to be a companion to my YouTube channel, a place where I can add details that don’t fit in the videos — but first I need to re-learn WordPress, the recipes will come later.

I’m going to use the month of the “Bloganuary” challenge to familiarize myself WordPress and in February my blog and channel.

The photos and animations here are all my own, unless I say otherwise, and you’re free to use them if you like. I will eventually have them categorized in a gallery.

Oh, and, fyi, I’m an American but live in Japan. Call me ct, everyone does. 🙂

  2. Hello newest Spikey! I know, a bit corny, eh, but that’s the term that has come to stick for those folk who are part of the clan known to be followers of Uncle Spike 🙂

Thank you… I really appreciate that as I for one, know how many interesting and entertaining blogs are out there.

My aim is to deliver an eclectic offering of posts, from my ‘point n shoot’ attempts at basic photography, to the sharing of my travel adventures over the decades, as well as day to day happenings here on the farm. Oh, plus a few observations on life as I see it, thrown in for good measure.

My promise to you is not to be overbearing, just a couple of posts a day, maybe 3 at weekends if I have something special to share. But if you are at a loose end one day, maybe you’ll enjoy trawling through some of my older stuff too. I have added plenty of categories to help in said digging process.

Thanks again and hope you have a great day…

  3. Hi there. Thanks for the visit to my blog. I like your idea of taking a basic recipe and adjusting it according to one’s personal preference – in my case vegan. All the best, Emy

    1. I very much love vegan food. I’ve so much I’ve been wanting to post with seitan, tofu, and soy protein but my camera’s got my attention. 😉

      Any favorite recipes?
